Calgary Marathon: Run with the Centre!

We are SO excited to let you know that the Brenda Strafford Centre is a Charity Partner for the 2021 Scotiabank Calgary Marathon this year! The event is being held in-person and virtually (September 19, 2021). You can sign up for any of the distances here: https://bit.ly/3ouhntL (be sure to use this link to ensure you are on our team)! Each runner means a donation to us, and you can peer to peer fundraise while you train over the summer (which at least we can still be running outside :)).

About the Calgary Marathon: Canada’s Longest Running Marathon. For 57 years, the Calgary Marathon has been at the forefront of running in this country, attracting runners from all over the world to discover our city while staying true to our western roots and loyal to our homegrown runners. Run Calgary is working with city partners, public health officials, sponsors and stakeholders to create a hybrid event this September. Participants will be able to choose between an in-person event on September 19 or the virtual race experience from September 1 to 30.

About the Charity Challenge: The Scotiabank Charity Challenge began in 2003 across the country collectively raising over $84 million which went directly to charities throughout Canada. The 2020 Scotiabank Calgary Marathon Charity Challenge raised over $525,000 for 81 local charities to help young people reach their infinite potential, and build vibrant communities! In its eleven year history, the Scotiabank Charity Challenge has helped raise more than $8.5 million in Calgary. Make your run more meaningful by helping one of our official Charities reach their goals while you are achieving yours!  Set up a fundraising page or make a direct donation during your race registration.  As Scotiabank covers all the fees associated with online fundraising, 100% of the funds raised will go directly to your chosen charity.
